how to make printer wireless

Hi, I'm here with a blog post on how to make your printer wireless. We all know how difficult it can be to set up a printer wirelessly and sometimes the process is just too complicated for some people. There are many ways in which you can do this so don't worry if you're not sure where to start because I'll help you out

The first thing that you will need is access to a wireless network as well as internet access on either an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. If your router isn't close enough then you might want to consider using an Ethernet cable but if it's in the same room then Wi-Fi should work fine.

You'll also need a wireless printer as I assume that you're making your current printer wireless. Be warned though that they are expensive so if you're on a tight budget then you might want to consider buying a new one.

So now that you've got everything that you need, here's how to make your printer wireless:

Firstly, set up the new printer where it's going to be and plug the power and USB cable in. If needed, download any updates for the software or drivers but often this will be done automatically when you connect it to your computer. Once they have been downloaded, install and restart your computer before connecting the printer via USB. If you need to use the Ethernet cable, plug it in now.

If you're using a Wi-Fi connection then run the setup software on your computer and once that's done, turn off your printer. On your printer's control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button while turning it back on. This will make it search for all available Wi-Fi signals and show you which one has the best signal strength. If there's just one signal then select it but if there are multiple signals, select the strongest one or choose "Automatic".

Your printer should start automatically downloading any updates or drivers so don't touch anything until you're told to do so later on in the process. When you're told to do so, connect the printer to your PC using the USB cable. Wait for it to install the necessary software and when that's done, disconnect the USB cable and turn off your printer once more. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button again but this time select "Disconnect" to remove it from your Wi-Fi network. Now reconnect it by pressing and holding the button while turning it back on.

Your printer should now be detecting any available wireless networks but if not then press and hold the Wi-Fi button again while turning it on but this time select "Add". Follow all of the prompts on your computer screen to set up your new wireless network. Your printer should now have internet access and your computer will choose one of the available wireless network to connect to. Once it's connected, your printer should automatically connect to it.

Now that your printer is wireless, you can use your computer to share files and printers with other computers on the same network as well as access any wireless networks that are hidden within your building (known as "browsing").

You can also use a Wi-Fi router (also known as an AP or access point) to expand the range of your wireless network or set up a guest network for visitors so they can use it without having their data being shared with you.
